The Malgaj Group
The Malgaj Group consists of two companies, Avtohiša Malgaj d.o.o. and Malgaj d.o.o. Soon after its establishment in 1989 the Malgaj Auto House became known as a reliable company. Renault, one of Europ’s largest car manufacturers, had enough confidence in young company to offer them a contract to become authorized Renault dealer. Since then, the Malgaj Auto House has been successfully growing to a company, renowned and esteemed throughout the territory of Slovenia.
The company Malgaj d.o.o., by successfully representing the Volkswagen, Volkswagen commercial vehicles, Skoda and Seat car makes and providing Audi vehicle service, contributes to the development of the entire Group.
On the car market Malgaj trademark has become a synonym to quality, based upon one of the best technically equipped and competent teams, continual investment in improvement of technical equipment and dedication to our customers’ needs. This will be our pursuit also in future. Thus meeting new challenges we will always maintain our motto: ”Compromise is in price, never in quality”.

Malgaj offers a large selection of pre-owned vehicles of all age groups and almost all makes. All acquired vehicles are properly prepared for sale, technically sound and come with our pre-owned vehicle warranty and necessary after-sale support.

Company History
Grass roots of our company are reaching far back to 1894, when Andrej Malgaj opened a blacksmith workshop in Gabrsko. In the beginning he specialized in typical blacksmith craftsmanship. Later the family business was handed dawn to his son Franc who soon expanded his expertise to making wagons for fireman use. With progress he soon encountered motorcycles and cars. In those times the repairs were done at home with parts made in blacksmith workshop. As the automotive industry grew, home-made parts were replaced by original factory parts and blacksmith workshop became a modern auto service.
The main milestones in the development of the Malgaj Group
1968 – Signing the contract on providing Audi’s vehicle service. Malgaj became the first authorized service provider for Audi in former Yugoslavia
1970 – We built our own body workshop.
1975 – We completed our sphere of activity by building our own paint workshop.
1982 – Erection of a new and modern auto mechanical workshop
1988 – Signing the contract on providing Renault’s vehicle service.
1990 – Signing the Renault vehicles Sales contract. Avtohiša Malgaj d.o.o. in Trbovlje opened the first private-owned car showroom in Slovenia and began to carry into effect its vision to become one of the most important actors in Slovenian automobile market.
1993 – The company Malgaj d.o.o. in Trbovlje opened Volkswagen and Audi car showroom and upgraded its service activities by sales of these car makes.
1994 – Opening of Volkswagen car showroom in Litija.
1994 – Signing the contract on Seat vehicle sales (up to 1998).
1995 – Erection of new modern Renault auto house and complete organizational separation of different car makes.
1998 – Extension of business to Ljubljana by opening Renault Sales and Service Center.
1998 – Construction of the first phase of new Volkswagen Sales and Service Center in Trbovlje.
2001- Extension of business in Ljubljana by new Used Car Center, occupying an area as large as 3.000 square meters.
2003 – Completion of the investment and opening of the new Volkswagen Sales and Service Center in Trbovlje, constructed according to the new Volkswagen standards.
2003 – Opening of Audi Center in Ljubljana, along with the authorized Volkswagen car service and Volkswagen commercial vehicle service.
2003 – Opening of our own car body workshop in Ljubljana.
2004 – We expanded to the region of Postojna and opened Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat Sales and Service Center, which enabled us to acquire also the authorization to sell and service Skoda vehicles in Postojna and Trbovlje.
2005 – Signing the Sales and Service contract for Dacia vehicles.
2007 – Signing the Sales and Service contract for selling Seat vehicles in Ljubljana.
